Fastest P565 PDA phone in the world announced by ASUS

Asus have just launched their latest business PDA phone which they say is the fastest in the world due to its 800 Mhz processor. The 2.8inch touchscreen uses Asus' Glide technology to handle graphics and system intensive tasks without compromising performance and copes well with multitasking.

The phone is GPS enabled with SatNav's SatGuide map pre-loaded with information of 200plus citites and 1.5 million destinations. Business orientated features includes push mail, business card recognition and Microsoft Office Mobile along with numerous applications, accessed with a fingertap on screen, that include times of local and visiting cities, weather reports and online news.

As for aesthetics, it comes in a black gloss and black synthethic leather exterior.

Knowledge has never been more accessible than it is now (except for spoilsport government's top secret stuff) and the Seiko Oxford Reference Library is capitalising on the e-Book trend with a new gizmo that contains seven reference books packed with facts, figures and all those things you never knew that you needed to know.

Naturally there's an Oxford English Dictonary and Thesaurus plus the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, Fowler’s Modern English Usage, Oxford Dictionary of Modern Slang, Oxford Dictionary of Abbreviations and the Britannica Concise Encyclopedia plus a phonetic spellchecker, word games and crossword, cryptic and anagram solvers. Knowledge doesn't come cheap though. It's £199 from Lifestyles Direct and Portable Technology.

LG KB770 phone has integrated mobile TV

If you're that addicted to TV, then the LG KB770 might just be the phone you're looking for. The PDA-style handset has a 3" touchscreen display and is equipped with DiBcom’s DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting-Terrestrial) receiver so that you can watch TV broadcasts on the move. However, the TV service may not neccessarily be totally free as it is likely that there will be a subscription service combined with some free content.

Currently news is that the handset will be launched in Germany this month and we'll have to wait and see as to when it hits the rest of Europe.

 

All weather Sonim XP3 phone

Technology and rain, eh? There's something about it that just doesn't go together all that well... until now. Sonim have launched their 'tough' all-weather GSM mobile phone, the Xtreme Performance 3 (XP3). It can withstand shocks and drops, can be fully submersed for 30 minutes within one metre of water and can withstand salt, fog humidity, transport and thermal shock and can work at temperatures ranging from -20C to +60C. Asides from that there is 5.5hours of talktime, 9 days of standby time plus there's a 3year warranty regardless of how you manage to break it which is rather decent.

The Sonim XP3 is out this month in  Sweden, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Norway and the United Kingdom. If you do need this phone, I'd like to meet you as you must have a terrifically exciting job that allows you to be in all those situations.

 

The STC Wireless Router Vase - the most beautiful router ever

Your router, let's face it, is a rather boring looking thing. Far better to have something gorgeous as well as functional like this STC router from Saudi Telecom.

I do think the branding lets the vase down but I'd still be much happier to see this router vase on my bookcase than the bland beige box that currently occupies the space with its winking green lights. I just wonder if it's safe to put water in or would the flowers have to go in dry?

Archos 7 Internet Media Tablet

For me, the Internet media tablet is one of the most exciting areas of gadgetry right now. After all, who doesn't want their tech smaller, faster and packed out with cool features? The 7-inch handheld device features a touch screen, two different capacity options at 160GB and 320GB and can store movies, music and photos for viewing.

With a PC like perfomance, it has up to 39 hours of battery life, WiFi, email application, Web browser, HD video playback and a QWERTY keyboard.

Denon's 'entry level' Blu-ray DVD player

If you're thinking of updating your DVD player, you might be looking into getting a Blu-ray player instead. Denon claim to be offering this DVD-1800BD Blu-ray player as an 'entry level model' but with a price tag of £599.99 I'm not totally sold on that. Yes, it's cheaper than their other models and it does have some nifty technology that will appeal to home movie buffs. For example, it's compatible with HD home cinema receiver, it'll play your CDs (but then they pretty much all do) plus it has a SD card reader which will make it easy for you to transfer media from other things such as your PC. It's available in silver or black from December.

Sony's new DPF-D80 and DPF-D100 digital photo frames

How many times have you taken a whole memory card of photos, forget about them then upload them to your PC months later and forget about them all over again?

Maybe if Sony's latest digital photo frames were on hand, you'd stop all that. Available in glossy black or chocolate brown, the frames have an 8 inch and 10.4 inch screen respectively. Images are rotated to portrait or landscape as when snapped thanks to a smart orientation sensor and they can hold up to 500 images - you can select one for each day of the year through the menu using the included remote control. Compatible memory cards include MS, MS Duo, SD, CF and Xd.
